Christiansburg is a progressive small town on the western side of Virginia. Originally the town was only 1.1 square miles hosting only rest stops and taverns along the Great Wilderness Road, which is present day U.S. Route 11. It was named in honor of the late Colonel William Christian, who was one of the original settlers in the region and a member of the Virginia Legislature. Today, Christiansburg is a part of the tri-city area of Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford Metro and the seat of Montgomery County.

The Huckleberry Trail – This paved, pet friendly trail connects the 2 towns of Christiansburg and Blacksburg. It welcomes both pedestrians and bikers to set out and take in the scenery through the wilderness. Benches are placed along the trail for rest and relaxation as well as markers every half mile. Parking is available on both ends.

Montgomery Museum & Lewis Miller Regional Art Center – The museum has beautiful art exhibits of both historic and contemporary ages. A nineteenth-century folk artist, Lewis Miller, who resided and produced work depicting Christiansburg is a main focus of the museum.
